description:

dexamethasone is a glucocorticosteroid with a strong antiflogistic, anti-allergic and gluconeogenetic action.

indications:

acetone anaemia, allergies, arthritis, bursitis,shock, and tendovaginitis in calves, cats, cattle, dogs, goats, sheep and swine.

administration and dosage:(0.2%)

for intramuscular or intravenous administration:

cattle: 5-15ml

calves, goats, sheep and swine:1-2.5ml

dogs: 0.25-1ml

cats:0.25ml

contraindications:

unless abortion or early parturition is required, administration of glucortin-20 during the last trimester of gestation is contra-indicated.

administration to animals with an impaired kidney or heart function.

side effects:

a temporary drop in milk production in lactating animals.

polyuria and polydypsia.

reduced wound healing.

withdrawal time:

for meat: 3 days.

for milk: 1 day.
